Meet Dr. Kelly Vincent Psy. D

Life can be hard and challenging at times. When the struggles become too intense or daunting, we must recognize that seeking support is a sign of strength.

If you’ve found yourself here, exploring just that, stop and give yourself a lot of credit. No seriously, take a pause after you read this sentence, and acknowledge your courage and bravery.

A little bit about me and then I’d love to hear more about you.

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who is passionate about helping guide women towards a more holistic way of living by healing past traumas, embodying their authentic selves, eradicating negative core beliefs, unsubscribing from hustle culture, and working to integrate gentle and holistic lifestyle shifts to move towards alignment within the mind and body.

I gravitate toward working with women who are struggling with anxiety, trauma, high β€œfunctioning” anxiety, imposter syndrome, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, and relationship issues. My area of focus and specialty is working with 20-somethings, female entrepreneurs, mothers, and women who are drawn to a more holistic lifestyle and approach.

Who I work with

The Modern Woman

    Young Adults

You may still be in college or just graduated, or you may be in your 20s or early 30s. Maybe you feel like you should have your life figured out by now or you are questioning what is next. This phase of life often includes some of life’s biggest transitions: breakups, friendship struggles, career decisions, and identity exploration. Either way, navigating your young adult years can be confusing, scary, and overwhelming. You may even think you are the only one that feels this way, well guess what, you definitely are not! Let’s work together to get you to a place where you can feel more confident, secure, and focused.

    Mamas

Being a mom is HARD. Adjusting to motherhood is one of the biggest life changes you may experience. It is a time when support is truly needed. Not only is motherhood physically exhausting at times; it can be emotionally draining as well. The highs and pure love are often coupled with lows and uncertainty.

You may be experiencing both highs and lows and/or feelings of ambivalence, you are not alone. Did you know it is estimated that β€œ"15-20% of women experience significant symptoms of depression or anxiety” (Postpartum Support International, 2019)? Seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

I am passionate about supporting moms to feel themselves again by providing a space where they can openly discuss struggles. Areas of focus include: pregnancy & postpartum depression and anxiety (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders), neonatal loss, grief/loss from miscarriage, work/life balance, and identity struggles.

    Entrepreneurs & Professionals

You’re smart, driven, and capable, yet you constantly doubt and question yourself. Maybe this self-doubt is hindering your professional passions, goals, or even advancement opportunities. Perhaps you're struggling to balance the different roles in your personal life with your professional aspirations, or you're finding it difficult to communicate assertively in the workplace. Whatever it is, let’s work on it together.

I have a special interest in helping female entrepreneurs and young professionals find their inner strength, voice, and confidence. My goal is to assist high achievers like you in overcoming self-imposed obstacles, building skills to let go of perfectionism, communicating confidently, enhancing professional self-esteem, and committing to a realistic work-life balance.

This passion is close to my heart, as I have firsthand experience in both the corporate and startup worlds. I began my career in digital marketing, working for companies like Sephora, Visa, and eBay. More recently, I founded Nourished Wellness Group, a holistic group practice, and I understand the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

I’d love to walk alongside you, offering support and guidance.

Section Styles approach

My Approach

My clinical approach and style is rooted in a holistic, mind-body perspective.

Our mental health struggles are often complexly layered and can have a profound impact on the physical body. When developing holistic treatment plans for my clients, I am often looking at the neurological, physiological, and psychological components of an individual to hypothesize the root cause. For example, the nervous system plays an integral role in how we experience ourselves, others and the world. Through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, we recognize and build somatic awareness in order to shift away from dysregulation and into what Dr. Dan Siegel calls our β€œwindow of tolerance” by building flexibility and resilience within our system.

β€œPsychotherapy is an individualized yet comprehensive biological treatment; it does not target one receptor, one or two neurotransmitters, or single modulators; it taps into all the biological regulations underlying complex brain responses. The end result of this type of intervention is a re-elaboration of the whole sense of self and others, through new learning and new experiences that encompass cognitive, emotional, and internal regulation processes.”(1)

As a result of this integrated holistic approach, I often utilize a combination of evidence-based treatments and body-based therapies utilizing both the β€œtop-down” approach and the β€œbottom-up” approach. A typical session may include traditional talk therapy or a β€œtop-down” approach (utilizing psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), and a β€œbottom-up” approach such as nervous system education and regulation practices, yoga, breathwork, visualizations, guided meditation, somatic experiencing, walk talk therapy, and gentle movement.

My passion for offering holistic therapy to the community led to the creation of Nourished Wellness Group, a holistic mental health collective located in Encinitas, California. We are a team of licensed clinicians and holistic community providers. One of our guiding foundational principles is offering integrative care that values and treats the mind, body, and spirit from a neurobiological lens. We are passionate about incorporating supplemental holistic providers (e.g. naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists, dietitians, etc) into your individualized plan, as it often aids your overall goals/intentions.
